The Canon EOS Rebel T1i features a 15.1Mp CMOS sensor (similar to the sensor found in the EOS 50D) for detailed, full volume prints, Live View for accurate pre-focusing and editing, continuous burst-rates of up to 3.4 fps, a DIGIC 4 image processor, and a scratch and glare-resistant high-resolution 3" Clear View LCD that allows for easy 100% image viewing from angles up to 170° off-center from the screen. The Rebel T1i records a choice of full HD 1080p, 720p, and VGA video capture for true high-resolution video that beats or meets the image quality of far costlier pro camcorders. The EOS Integrated Cleaning System combats dust through the use of high-frequency vibrations that shake dust loose from the sensor's front-mounted IR filter every time you power up and power down. It has an ISO rating from ISO 100 through 3200 in standard mode, and from 6400 to 12,800 in expanded mode.
The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens is designed with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology. Its stabilization allows sharp hand-held shots at shutter speeds up to four stops slower.
The Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS telephoto Zoom Lens is equivalent to a focal length of 88-400mm in the 35mm format (when used on Canon EOS cameras compatible with EF-S lenses).

Is it perfect? No but it is Amazing!
OK lest first talk about the Canon T1i. It's a really great and sound camera. It has some really nice features for a DSLR, including some you won't find on lesser models. It does an excellent job when shooting at higher ISO's which is a big plus coming from a point-&-shoot camera where I couldn't go above 200 without tons of noise. With the T1i I can go 1600 and not worry about it at all. Heck 3200 at times is more than fine and if you have a noise suppression program it will be more than fine. The only negative and it's not a big one but it's the feel of the materials of the casing. Compared to Nikon's it just feels a bit cheap, but the actual results from the camera are anything but cheap.
On to the lenses. The kit lens is ok, it has a pretty high f value for a kit lens which is nice but for me I'm loving the 55-250 IS zoom lens. It has a great range to the lens and the IS is great in low lighting situations. With the IS on both lenses you can shoot at really low shutter speeds if you have a steady hand and not have any problems.
The bag and other accessories that come with the package or OK. The extra battery is a must have! The bag works fine. It's a bit big and I would like it if the strap extended to a larger size but hey I'm a big guy. The 8GB memory card is nice, it's not the best quality card but works well and trust me you'll need at least an 8gb card for those RAW files. Honestly that's all that I've used of it. All of those other items won't be used that often but will be nice to have when you have clean the camera.
Overall I'm loving my purchase. The T1i is a great body and the getting the 2 lenses are a big plus and they are a great combination together.

Still learning camera, but loving it so far!
I haven't had this camera very long, but what little Iv done with it Iv loved. Some of the things right off the bat that I like: it's light, the low battery warning is very obvious (It was hard for me to tell on my point and shoot), it takes great pics even in low light on auto/with out the flash ( a major improvement over my point and shoot!) As I said before, I haven't had time to do much with it so far, but what Iv done has impressed me. I thought the price for the package was great, much less than in the stores.

Speaking as an amateur, I love my digital SLR. It will improve my photography considerably. The kit was as promised and a broken clip on the camera bag was replaced by 2 sent as soon as notified.
